The Late Tapasi Misra was, nay is the idol of the life of Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani. Though her untimely demise at an age of fifty eight is a severe blow to the very existence of the organization. She is very dearly remembered by the students, teachers, guardians and the members of the governing body of our organization. Factually whoever got a scope to be acquainted with this fair-spoken lady with a pure and bright smile could not but be enchanted. She was endeared to the music world for her melodious voice and good manners, Shreemati Misra came of a respectable family of Gopalnagar, Chetla, her parents being Mantu and Prosadee Sen. She took her first lesson of music from Pt. Kamal Basu (at the Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani) and later with Pt. V. G. Jog and Smt. Meera Bandyopadhyay (Classical Music); Shree Kavi Majumder, Smt. Bharati Mujumder, Shree Debabrata Biswas and Smt. Sumitra Chattopadhyay ( Ranbindra Sangeet); Shree Khagesh Mukhopadhyay ( different types of Bengali songs). In Later life she became music teacher of Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani and was examiner of Prayag Sangit Samity, Allahabad and Pracheen Kalakendra of Chandigarh University till death. Sreemati Misra excelled in sports and games also-specially in athleties. As a dancer she in her early life appeared in the leading roles of different Dance Drama of Rabindranath Tagore directed by Smt. Juthika Dutta (Baghajatin Kirtan Kuteer), which drew attention and applause of the audience. When married in the reputed Musical Misra family of Chetla, she very ably maintained an equilibriated harmony amongst family affairs, musical practice, teaching career and administering in a musical organisation of repute. On this very first Annual Music Festival of Chetla Murari Sangeet Sammilani after her exit from this worldly stage of Music each and everybody related with the Sammilani remembers her with a heavy heart and tearful eyes and recalls;
